The Plaza Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas reopened after an extensive overhaul of this 40 year old property. Each of the 1030 guest room bathrooms were gutted and refinished with new porcelain tile and white marble, and every room received a new marble vanity and marble threshold. SUPERIOR installed over 134,000 SF of tile in the guest room tower. The schedule was extremely aggressive, requiring completion of two floors of guest rooms every week. SUPERIOR’s work in the casino included decorative marble floors with matching columns, mosaic granite floors and cut to size locally fabricated stone counter tops. SUPERIOR installed 11,000 SF of terrazzo on the sidewalk of the porte-cochere. The logos in the terrazzo at the front doors are cut from sheets of brass using SUPERIOR’s CNC water jet cutting machines, and inlayed into the terrazzo.
