Project: Cosmopolitan East Tower Suites
Location:Cosmopolitan Hotel Casino - Las Vegas, Nevada
Client:Perini Building Company / Design Team Bentel & Bentel
Details: Consisting of four high-roller suites with three completely different finish schemes, marble from four countries, and only five months to secure all material, cut-to-size, and complete installation. In order to adhere to the very aggressive schedule, SUPERIOR met with the designers, general contractor, and fabricators in Europe, shortly after award of the contract. The difficult material selection, however challenging, was successful as the design team was afforded the opportunity to view and select the material at the quarries and block yards. The project schedule did not allow time for a detailed shop drawing approval process so SUPERIOR had the factories supply all slabs book matched and cut the slabs to size after field measurements could be taken on site. All floor, wall, and counter stone, is book matched or diamond matched to create a most dramatic effect.

Project: Cosmopolitan Guest Room Towers
Details: This project included 2000 hotel / condo units, 1,000 hotel units, public areas on beach deck, hotel deck, and recreation deck, plus high roller suites. Over 1 million sq ft of marble tile, 4,000 granite vanities, 2,000 granite kitchens, 500,000 sq ft mosaic & 30,000 sq ft of additional cut-to-size natural stone including book matched walls, floors, and counter tops at the high roller suites. Each hotel/condo unit includes elaborate bathrooms with mosaics and marble intermixed to form a special design relationship and a very difficult installation which Superior's artisans proved up to the challenge. Prior to any material being ordered, SUPERIOR, with its clients, visited the quarries in Sicily, Carrara, Turkey, France, and Spain as well as the mosaic manufacturing factories in China. Visiting the source of the material allows the client to have a better understanding of the product and the challenges related to the product as well as an improved supply chain to control deliveries to the job site and make sure production schedules are met.
