International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen

SUPERIOR works to foster strong relations with the
International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers union. In 2010, after nomination by the Nevada branch of the BAC Local 13, SUPERIOR was recognized by the Nevada AFL-CIO as "Contractor of the Year" for our unwavering support of union workers.

SUPERIOR's management team has been actively involved in the construction industry for several decades. Our involvement includes:

1. Tile Council of North America (TCNA)
The TCNA establishes standards and distributes handbooks used as a guide for the installation of ceramic tile. SUPERIOR's managers have participated as delegates at TCNA annual conferences which review, and where necessary, revise the handbooks.

2. Tile Contractors Association of America (TCAA)

SUPERIOR is a long-standing member of TCAA and holds the Trowel of Excellence certification recognizing our company for excellence within our industry.

3. International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen (BAC)
SUPERIOR is signatory to the BAC and for decades members have and continue to participate as trustees in many committees - on both a local and national level - including:

  • Apprenticeship Training
  • Labor Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC)
  • ERISA-Pension Funds
All committees are jointly trusted; the trustees are comprised of both management and union.

4. American Subcontractors Association of California (ASAC) and Nevada Subcontractors Association (NSA)
In addition to hosting a number of educational events each year, the ASAC and NSA - with the help of a registered lobbyist - tracks and responds to proposed legislation at the State levels. For the past several years SUPERIOR's officers have held positions and have volunteered time and energy to work with the ASAC, CalPASC, NSA and other statewide organizations on legislative efforts to reform the laws governing the transfer of risk from one party to another. This and other legislative efforts spearheaded by the ASAC and NSA and supported by SUPERIOR are intended to improve the business climate for subcontractors in California and Nevada.

5. California Association of Specialty Subcontractors (CalPASC)
CalPASC is an organization dedicated to the education of residential trade subcontractors throughout California, and representation of their interests in Sacramento. Like ASAC, CalPASC utilizes the services of a registered lobbyist to track and respond to proposed legislation. CalPASC's officers are actively involved in legislation regarding risk transfer and similar issues. SUPERIOR recently joined other subcontractors in the development of a Bay Area Chapter.

6. Tile Terrazzo Marble Restoration Contractors Association (TTMRCA)
Since 1975, SUPERIOR's management team has served as officers of this organization including President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director.
